Selecting an AI Model

Model picker showing available AI models

Model Picker

At the top of every chat, iPassion AI Portal displays a searchable model picker. Click it to open a dropdown listing all models you have access to. You can type to filter by name, and models may display tags for quick identification (e.g., "Fast", "Advanced", "Vision").

Switching Models Mid-Conversation

Type @ followed by a model name in the message input to direct that specific message to a different model without starting a new chat. For example: @gpt-4o Can you review this?. The mentioned model will handle that message while the default model remains unchanged for subsequent messages.

Comparing Models Side by Side

Click the + icon next to the model selector to add additional models. When you send a message, iPassion AI Portal displays responses from all selected models side by side, making it easy to compare quality, style, or accuracy.

Info

  • You can only see models that your administrator has granted access to, either directly or through your group.
  • Each model has different capabilities and costs. Choose the one that best fits your task.
  • The model name is shown on every message for traceability.

Chatting with AI

General Questions

Type questions in natural language. iPassion AI Portal routes them to the selected AI model for processing.

File and Image Uploads

  1. Click the paperclip icon to the left of the message input, or drag and drop files directly into the chat.
  2. Select a file from your device (supported formats include PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, and plain text).
  3. Type a question about the file, e.g., "Please summarize this document" or "What does this image show?"
  4. Click Send. The AI will analyze the uploaded content and respond accordingly.

Web Search with Citations

When web search is enabled, the AI can retrieve real-time information from the internet. Responses that use web results include inline citations so you can verify the sources.

Code Execution

iPassion AI Portal supports code execution for Python directly in the browser or via Open Terminal. When the AI generates code, you can run it and see the output within the chat interface.

Message Queue

You can continue typing and sending follow-up messages while the AI is still generating a response. Messages are queued and processed in order, so you do not need to wait for each reply before continuing.

Memory

iPassion AI Portal can remember facts about you across conversations. When memory is enabled, the AI retains key details you share (such as preferences, your role, or project context) and uses them in future chats. You can manage stored memories in your personal settings.

Voice and Audio

  • Speech-to-Text (STT): Click the microphone icon to dictate messages instead of typing.
  • Text-to-Speech (TTS): Have the AI read its responses aloud.
  • Voice and Video Calls: Initiate real-time voice or video calls with the AI for a hands-free conversational experience.

Image Generation

iPassion AI Portal supports AI image generation through providers such as GPT-Image, Gemini, and ComfyUI. Describe the image you want in your message, and the AI will generate it directly in the chat.

Using Knowledge Bases in Conversations

  1. Type # in the message input.
  2. The system displays a list of Knowledge Bases you have access to.
  3. Select the desired Knowledge Base.
  4. Type your question. The AI will search and reference data from the selected Knowledge Base to provide grounded answers.

When native function calling is enabled on a model, agentic retrieval allows the AI to autonomously search through linked documents without you needing to manually select a Knowledge Base.

Using AI Agents

Type @ in the message input to see a list of available AI Agents. Select an agent to route your message to a specialized assistant configured for a specific task or domain.

Managing Responses

  • Copy: Click the copy icon to copy a response to your clipboard.
  • Regenerate: Click regenerate to get a new response if you are unsatisfied.
  • Rate: Rate responses (good/bad) to help administrators evaluate and improve the system.
  • Edit: Edit a previously sent message to get a revised AI response.
